Oral hygiene during pregnancy

Hormonal changes during pregnancy increase the risk of gum bleeding and the build-up of bacteria, so pregnant women are advised to take more care of their oral hygiene by brushing their teeth at least twice a day and selecting their toothbrush and toothpaste carefully. Pregnancy also increases the risk of tooth decay and gingivitis, thus regular visits to the dentist is also recommended.
